PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chopper type DC-DC converter which is excellent in voltage conversion efficiency even if it is driven by a drive signal small in duty ratio. SOLUTION: The chopper type DC-DC converter which converts a primary input voltage into a secondary output voltage by switching it on or switching it off by a switch element 5, has a charge means comprising a capacitor 6 which charges electric energy in a charge period when it charges an inductor 4 with energy and a one-way conduction means 7b for the prevention of a counter flow, and outputs, in superposition, energy stored in the charge means when discharging the charge energy of the inductor 4.
