The mousetrap has a lower box-like housing part (1) open at the top and on its narrow front side and an upper housing part (2) open at the bottom. The back short side (5) of the upper housing part is bent inwards to take bait (7) and the upper housing part is pivotably positioned in the middle of the lower housing so that the upper part closes its front short side (8) when bait is taken. The closing trap allows the upper housing part to turn in one direction and then closes it in the other direction when the part's closing position is reached.
