PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sex pheromone substance sustained release formulation which can control the simultaneous release of sex pheromone substances, when the sex pheromone substances having different chemical structures are mixed for one kind of insect pests or when the sex pheromone substances are mixed for several kinds of insect pests, and can release the sex pheromone substances at a constant or more release rate in response to an insect pest-breeding period, and to provide a method for controlling the insect pests. SOLUTION: This sex pheromone substance sustained release formulation comprising the first sex pheromone substance consisting of one or more compounds selected from 10 to 18C aliphatic linear aldehydes and the second pheromone substance consisting of 7 to 20C aliphatic derivatives excluding aldehyde compounds is characterized by having the first polymer chamber charged with all of the first sex pheromone substance or with all of the first sex pheromone substance and a part of the second pheromone substance and the second polymer chamber charged with the residual sex pheromone substance.
