The controller has sensors (2) for receiving of occurrence of traffic before the vehicle. An evaluating unit evaluates occurrences of traffic and controls an adjustment electronics (3) for the headlight. The electronics adjusts the range of the lower beam headlight after determined traffic occurrences. A moving breakout exists between the lower beam arrangement and high beam arrangement of the headlight.
