PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a precursor composition for producing a glassy membrane capable of burning the composition on a glass at a comparatively low temperature, thereby enabling a secondary processing of the glass and heightening an adhesion to the glass by distilling a specific mixture and adding an antimicrobial agent thereto. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (B) an organic resin (e.g. a mixture of an acrylic resin and a melamine resin), (C) 1-20wt.% at least one kind of trifunctional silicon alkoxide containing a ureide group (e.g.γ-ureidopropyl triethoxy silane), (D) 30-70wt.% high-boiling solvent having 150-250 deg.C boiling point and (E) 0.5-10wt.% silver-supporting zirconium phosphate. The composition is obtained by dissolving the components B and C in (A) a solvent having a low boiling point, mixing the solution with the component D, further distilling the resultant mixture to volatile the component A and thereafter adding the component E to the distilled residue. Moreover, the component A is preferably the one having 20-150 deg.C boiling point, e.g. toluene.
