PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that is free from image failure resulting from hot offset of a paper non-passage part or a wrinkle caused by a fixing roller, even if narrow papers (i.e., small-sized paper), such as envelopes are printed in a large quantity. SOLUTION: A heater for heating the fixing roller is in the form of a plate with a low heat capacity and has a plurality of heating elements of different lengths.
