摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element having a high light-emission luminance and superior endurance, and to provide a novel iridium complex suitable for providing the light-emitting element. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element has at least one organic layer between a pair of electrodes, the at least one organic layer, containing a complex having a tridentate to hexadentate ligand represented by general Formula (1), in which a carbon atom in the benzene ring has a bond with an iridium atom and the benzene ring has substitution groups in the para position, with respect to the bond. In the general Formula (1), R<SP>11</SP>, R<SP>12</SP>, R<SP>14</SP>and R<SP>15</SP>, respectively stand for hydrogen atoms or the substitution groups independently. A symbol R<SP>13</SP>stands for a substitution group. Either or both of the R<SP>11</SP>and R<SP>15</SP>can coordinate with the iridium atom on the substitution group and both of the R<SP>11</SP>and R<SP>15</SP>cannot be hydrogen atoms at the same time. The symbol L<SP>11</SP>stands for a ligand. The symbol X<SP>11</SP>stands for a counterion. The symbol n<SP>11</SP>stands for an integer 0 to 3 and n<SP>12</SP>stands for an integer 0 to 3.
