PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire coating material that is made of polyester block copolymer and has excellent heat resistance higher than 180°C, cold resistance, mechanical strength, flexibility and frame retardancy and shows easy handleability even before crosslinking treatment, and provide wire coating material of polyester block copolymer, particularly suitable for electric wires, signal wires and cables. SOLUTION: This polyester block copolymer electric wire coating material is prepared by using polybutylene terephthalate mainly as the hard segment, by using an amorphous (or low crystallinity) polyester prepared from aliphatic and/or aromatic dicarboxylic acids and long chain diol of 5 to 12 C as the soft segments and finally crosslinking the bloc copolymer with radioactive rays.
