PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bisphenol A having high purity and good hue. SOLUTION: This method for producing bisphenol A is characterized by cooling a bisphenol A-containing solution at at least two step temperatures to form an adduct crystal solid-containing slurry, in a crystallization process for forming the adduct crystal solid-containing slurry, and controlling a solid fraction at 36 to 60 wt. % in the slurry at at least one crystallization step excluding the first crystal-producing crystallization step, or by producing the adduct crystal slurry in a multi-chamber type crystallization apparatus whose inside is divided into three or more divisions with partitions and has a cooling device in at least one division, sequentially transferring the adduct crystal slurry to the divisions, respectively, to gradually cool the adduct crystal slurry, and controlling a solid fraction at 36 to 60 wt. % in the slurry at at least one crystallization step excluding the first crystal-producing crystallization step.
