IMPLANT INSERT SYSTEM

The invention relates to a combination for positioning a medical implant (14) in a patient body. Said combination comprises a storage container (1) for receiving the implant (14) in a stored state thereof, a catheter end-piece (17) which forms the proximal end of the catheter by the connection therewith and an insertion device (6). The insertion device (6) is removably connectable with the catheter end-piece (17) and with a storage container (1) in such a way that the implant (14) is transferable from the storage container (1) into the insertion device (6) and therefrom to the catheter by means of a guide wire (15) disposed proximally to the implant (14). The inventive combination simplifies handling during the insertion of the implant (14) in to catheter. In addition, the implant (14), particularly a stent, is storable in the storage container (1) for prolonged periods of time in the released non-compressed state thereof, when the internal diameter of the storage container (1) is greater than the internal diameter of the insertion device (6) and of the catheter lumen.
