The bearing for the shaft of an exhaust turbocharger in a vehicle has a disk-shaped base (18) which is held between two halves of the turbocharger casing, one of which incorporates a lubricant feed channel. Slide blocks (20) are mounted in seatings (22) near the center of the disk so that they can swivel and wedges (K) of lubricant are formed between them and the surface (32) of the shaft. The blocks are disk-shaped and in the operating phase are held in position only by the force of the rotating shaft, without jamming in the seatings.
