<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nighttime vehicle width light capable of accurately telling a stop position of a vehicle of its own. <P>SOLUTION: The nighttime response type vehicle width light for telling the stop position of the vehicle 1 comprises a plurality of infrared-ray emitting LEDs 10A, 10B, 10C, 10D provided at end parts in the vehicle width direction of front/rear parts of the vehicle 1 and a driving circuit for lighting a plurality of the infrared-ray emitting LEDs 10A, 10B, 10C, 10D when the vehicle 1 is determined to be stopping.
