PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which can speed up an image formation by an approach which is different from the improvement of the material of paper. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer forms an image by scanning an inkjet head section 5 in a main scanning direction which is orthogonal to a subsidiary scanning direction while carrying a long sheet of paper in the subsidiary scanning direction. The inkjet printer is equipped with a carrying path which can carry the long sheet of paper in two rows, two rows of a first ink head section 51 and a second ink head section 52 which constitute the ink head section 5, and are arranged in the main scanning direction, and a control section 24. In this case, the control section 24 controls the ink head section 5 in such a manner that a sheet of paper P1 on the left is made to correspond to the first ink head section 51 on the left, and a sheet of paper P2 on the right is made to correspond to the second ink head section 52 on the right when an image formation is performed by carrying sheets of the paper in two rows, and an image may be formed on the sheet of paper by a head unit for the row which has been made to correspond to the sheet of paper.
