PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker with an improvement in rice cooking function for a low protein rice. SOLUTION: Rice cooking course selectable by a menu switch 53 includes a low protein rice course, and when the low protein rice course is selected, low protein rice cooking is performed on the basis of a heating pattern of the low protein rice course, which is different from a white rice heating pattern. The low protein rice absorbs a large amount of water fast compared with the white rice, so that the low protein rice cooking omits a "soaking" process as a water absorption process, and performs cooking at low heat after boiling.
