A method for the production of fibrous sheet (especially long fibre paper or wet fleece) on an oblique wire former, in which at least one of the wire-guiding elements (breast roll, dewatering elements, guide rollers) is caused to oscillate at right angles to the wire direction by means of a shaker. A method for the production of fibrous sheet (2) (especially long-fibre paper or wet fleece) from fibre suspensions (3) in an oblique wire former (1) with a wire (sieve) (4), in which the wire (4) is passed over part of the circumference (6) of a breast roll (5) and then at least partly at an angle (alpha ) to the horizontal (H), the angled section (7) being supplied from a pulp feed (8) with suspension (3) which is dewatered by dewatering element(s) (9) underneath the wire. In this method, at least one wire-guiding element (5, 9, 10, 11, 12) is caused to oscillate at right angles to the wire direction (S) by means of a shaker (13). An independent claim is also included for an oblique wire former (1) as described above.
