PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dial for timepieces capable of acquiring metallic luster and a satisfactory light transmittance without requiring a large number of expensive metal molds. SOLUTION: A large number of protrusion parts 6 having circular, elliptical, and polygonal flat surface shapes are formed in at least one surface of a light transmitting dial plate 4 by a printing method to form the dial for timepieces. By forming the protrusion parts 6 by a printing method, especially by a pad printing method, it is possible to finely set the diameter of circles of the flat shape and the diameter and pitch of circumscribed circles of the ellipses and the polygons in the protrusion parts 6 and also possible to form the protrusion parts 6 by mixing particles which reflect light in ink.
