PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferroelectric material having improved orientation and crystallinity by properly arranging the polarization axes of bismuth-layered structure ferroelectrics.

SOLUTION: The production method comprises sintering a powder sample comprising a matrix composed of an amorphous powder mixed with a specified amount of a plate crystal containing the amorphous powder by uniaxially compacting the powder sample and simultaneously applying direct pulsed current to the same parallel to the pressurization direction.
