<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a rotational shaft seal with a conventional assembling type structure requires a large number of components and manufacturing processes, which makes it difficult to reduce cost and that even in a multiple lip integral-type rotational shaft seal, friction torque applied to a rotational shaft is increased and abnormal noise is generated. <P>SOLUTION: This sealing device is fitted between a rotational shaft of a compressor for an air conditioner and a housing, and comprises a metallic annular reinforcing member and a seal member made of synthetic rubber including the reinforcing member. A main lip, an auxiliary lip and a dust lip are provided in the inner periphery of the seal member made of synthetic rubber. When the inner pressure in the sealed fluid side is within 1 MPa, the auxiliary lip does not contact the rotational shaft. Since the sealing device has a multiple lip integral-type structure in which the auxiliary lip does not contact the rotational shaft when the inner pressure in the sealed fluid side is within 1 MPa, no friction torque is applied to the rotational shaft by the auxiliary lip when the inner pressure is within 1 MPa, and thus, no abnormal noise caused by friction is generated. When the inner pressure exceeds 1 MPa, deformation suppression and breakdown prevention of the main lip are exerted. As a result, the rotational shaft seal reducing the number of components and manufacturing processes, reducing cost and having high efficiency can be realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
