PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably carry paper sheets by movable guides coping with various types of permanent bendings formed on the paper sheets at a position where two paper carrying routes are converged with each other and paper sheets of different sizes. SOLUTION: This paper guiding device 40 is disposed at the position where a paper carrying route 50 for discharging as a first paper carrying route is merged with a paper carrying route 60 for double-sided printing as a second paper carrying route. The plurality of movable guides 41 arranged in the lateral direction of paper sheets perpendicular to a paper carrying direction hold a second attitude for supporting the carrying of paper sheets P always passed through the carrying route 60 for double-sided printing by its mass as an energizing means. When the paper sheets P are passed through the paper carrying route 50 for discharging, since the paper sheets P come into contact with the movable guides 41, the movable guides 41 are independently changed to a first attitude for supporting the carrying of the paper sheets P passed through the paper carrying route 50 for discharging against an energizing force by the energizing means.
