<p>An elevator apparatus where a maintenance space for a hoist can be secured without expanding an installation space even if the diameter of the hoist is increased. An elevator apparatus having a cage (2), a counterweight (3), a drive sheave (4) over which a main rope (9) is passed, and a hoist (5) for rotating the drive sheave. The elevator apparatus further has a reversing sheave (6) installed next to the drive sheave, having the shaft parallel to the shaft of the drive sheave, and rotated in the direction reverse to that of the rotation of the drive sheave, a first group deflection sheave (8a), and a second group deflection sheave (8b). The main rope is constructed from a first group main rope (9a) and a second group main rope (9b). The first group main rope is passed over from the second group deflection sheave to the reversing sheave, turned around there, and then passed over the reversing sheave. The second group main rope is passed over from the second group deflection sheave to the reversing sheave, turned around there, and then passed over the drive sheave. That portion of the first group main rope which is between the drive sheave and the that portion of the second group rope which is between the reversing sheave and the drive sheave cross on a projection plane as viewed in the direction of the axes of the drive sheave and the reversing sheave.</p> |
