A master transmission device (MS) is provided for use in a flash system having the master transmission device (MS) and a slave flash device (SS, SSA, SSB, SSC), in which the slave flash device (SS, SSA, SSB, SSC) is located at a distance from the master transmission device (MS) and controlled through communication from the master transmission device (MS). The master transmission device (MS) comprises transmission means (MS) for transmitting control information including light emission start information indicating a light emission start timing, and light emission information indicating at least one of an amount of light emission and a light emission time.
