<p>A formulation for use in killing and removing bot eggs from horses, which formulation comprises: propandiol for dissolving an outer casing of the bot eggs and exposing larvae in the eggs; a first solubiliser which is for softening the outer casing of the bot eggs; boric acid for killing the larvae; an emulsifier; a second solubiliser which is for aiding in the dissolving of an adhesive by which the bot eggs are adhered to the horse; a thiol solvent for aiding in the dissolving of the adhesive by which the bot eggs are adhered to the horse; a thiol solvent for aiding in the dissolving of the adhesive by which the bot eggs are adhered to the horse; a quaternary compound for assisting in the dissolving of the adhesive and killing of the bot eggs; a substance which tastes foul to the horse and thereby acts to deter the horse licking an area of its body which has been treated with the formulation; and water.</p> |
