摘要 A plot generator 4 receives range data from two vehicle mounted radar sensors 5,6. The output of the plot generator 4 is fed to a track creator module 7 whose output is processed by a Kalman filter 8. The output of the filter 8 comprising target position estimates is fed back to the track creator module 7 and also the plot generator 4. The systems sensitivity to random range measurement errors is reduced as the target plots provided by the plot generator are based on previous position estimates and measurements of target range from the sensors. The invention may be applied in an on-board target tracking arrangement for use in a vehicle fitted with adaptive cruise control.
