FIELD: building, particularly to perform repair and construction works for building room finishing, repair and restoration. ^ SUBSTANCE: device comprises working seat with flexible suspension means having loops in upper part thereof and latch hook fastened to the loops. Device has self-securing end connected to the first steel cable by the second latch hook. Latch hook connected to the loops is also fastened to the second steel cable. Individual safety system is connected to latch hook connected to the loops by the third latch hook. The steel cables are connected to members of building structure. Method of repair and construction work performing involves accommodating worker on working seat; securing individual safety system to the worker; connecting self-securing end to the first steel cable by latch hook and to the second steel cable by another latch hook connected to the loops; fastening the seat with worker to the device so that worker's back is in seat movement direction; connecting individual safety system by the third latch hook of the second steel cable and moving seat with worker along the second steel cable so that worker may pull himself along the second steel cable, wherein self-securing end slides along the first steel cable by latch hook secured thereto. ^ EFFECT: increased safety for staff during ceiling finishing and increased economic efficiency. ^ 2 cl, 1 dwg
