<p>A compact sound damper and air filter for the air inlet of an IC engine has a removable air filter (4) fitted into the end of the inlet duct (2) via a support flange (12). An activated charcoal filter (5) is permanently fitted into the end of the engine air inlet duct (3) and is offset towards the air filter, which it itself offset into its duct. This provides a close spacing of the two filters with a full width air flow. The activated charcoal filter has a simple construction with the charcoal held between two porous supports.</p> |
