<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus which is capable of guiding rays emitted from an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to the predetermined position of a lighting cover via a cylindrical lens, and then making the light from the top of the cylindrical lens diffused. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus 10 comprises an apparatus body 11 and a lighting cover 12, wherein the apparatus body 11 comprises a fluorescent lamp and an LED unit 22 included in a housing cylinder 23. A cylindrical lens 31 contained in a protection cylinder 32 is disposed in the lighting cover 12 so as to make the back end face to the LED unit 22, after being assembled, and the lens top 31a of the cylindrical lens 31 is made to expose from the lighting cover 12. A convexo-concave structure is formed on the surface of the lens top 31a, for example, by a process such as knurling or the like, thus the brightness of the light of LEDs 21 that involves the hazard of causing damages to the eyes, when looking directly at the light because of too much high brightness, is softened since the light projected from the LEDs 21 is diffused on the surface of the lens top 31a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
