摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for evaluating human interface versatility efficiency conducting a logically insured evaluation in figuring out the appropriate value of the operation versatility of an input device. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes steps for: storing data on input device characteristics for data indicative of an operation tool element constituting the input device and constraint conditions of its mechanical state transition; calculating an input device information capacity by calculating the logarithm of the number of states of the input device in data on the input device characteristics; storing the types of operation contents obtained by actually measuring the input device or done by a fictitious operator and data on the frequency of operation actions composed of the description of the frequency of its generation; calculating the versatility of operation actions based on an individual operation generation probability obtained by dividing the the frequency of individual operation actions by the total sum of the frequency of operation generation actions based on the data on the frequency of operation actions and the logarithm of the individual operation generation probability being the logarithm of the individual operation generation probability; and calculating the function of an input device redundancy evaluation in accordance with the magnitude relationship between the value of the versatility of the operation actions and the value of the input device information capacity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
