<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus wherein a plurality of imaging units and a writing unit are efficiently cooled by a single cooling fan, and to provide a development unit, a photoreceptor unit and an image forming unit for the image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with the writing unit 21 for guiding light beams emitted from a light source unit to a plurality of image carriers 3 via an optical system having an optical polariscope, and then forming an image; the plurality of image forming units 2 constituted of a photoreceptor unit 2A equipped with an image forming member, having the image carrier 3 and a developing unit 2B for forming a toner image on the image carrier 3; and the cooling fan 7 for sending cooling air to a space formed between the writing unit 21 and the plurality of image forming units 2. The plurality of image forming units 2 are arranged in line on a straight line, the writing unit 21 is arranged in parallel to the plurality of image forming units 2, and the cooling fan 7 is arranged so that the center axis A of the cooling fan 7 is positioned at nearly half the distance between the plurality of image forming units 2 and the writing unit 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
