METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ANAEROBICALLY DECOMPOSING ORGANIC WASTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for anaerobically decomposing organic waste, in which the fluctuation of the amount of the organic waste to be thrown into a methane fermentation tank is hardly exerted on the methane fermentation tank so that organic waste can be decomposed at a low operating cost in a short time.

SOLUTION: At least a part of methane-fermented sludge in the methane fermentation tank is withdrawn to the outside of the methane fermentation tank. The concentration of an organic acid in the withdrawn methane-fermented sludge is lowered by using an organic acid removing unit. The organic acid concentration-lowered sludge is returned to the methane fermentation tank. The organic acid concentration in the methane fermentation tank is kept lower so that organic waste can stably be decomposed anaerobically since the activity of a methanogen is not obstructed.
