PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control an AE and AW according to a switchover position of an optical filter with different optical transmittance. SOLUTION: An imaging device 1 is provided with a lens barrel 10 having an imaging lens group 12 taking images of subjects and an iris 13 controlling an optical amount in a lens barrel 11, a solid image pickup device 25 forming images of the subjects taken by the lens barrel and performing optoelectronic transduction, an imaging signal processing circuit 56 processing an imaging signal from the solid image pickup device, an optical filter board assembly 30 provided between the lens barrel and the solid image pickup device, and so that an optical film board 35 having a plurality of optical filter portions 35a-35c whose optical transmittances are different from one another can be switched, optical filter switchover position detecting means 38 and 39 each detecting switchover positions of a plurality of optical filter portions in the optical filter board, and a control means 51 controlling automatic exposure and/or automatic white balance according to the detection result of the optical filter switchover position detection means.
