PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus such that weights placed when a zoom ring and a focus ring are operated can freely be varied and a user can freely set what is called a "taste of the zoom (focus) ring". SOLUTION: Optical equipment which detects a quantity of variation accompanying a position shift of an operation member provided to a portion of a photographic lens or the imaging apparatus by a detecting means and controls driving of an optical member along the optical axis by a control means based upon a detection signal from the detecting means is fitted with a torque varying means capable of varying the torque applied when the operation member is operated to a desired value by using a Coulomb force, an electromagnet, a motor, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
