<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pocket type hydrogen absorbing electrode for a nickel/hydrogen storage battery having high capacity, high charge/discharge performance, and long cycle life by solving such problems of the pocket type hydrogen storage alloy electrode used for a negative electrode of the nickel/hydrogen storage battery that electric resistance is high, and polarization in discharge is high, and the cycle life is short when used in the nickel/hydrogen storage battery. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode of the nickel/hydrogen storage battery is manufactured in such a way that a briquette formed by compressing mixed powder of hydrogen absorbing alloy powder and conductor powder is housed in a porous metal pocket, and they are pressed at a pressure of 500 MPa or more to press-bond the pocket to the briquette. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
