SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for screening pharmaceuticals for the treatment or crisis prevention of hepatitis or hepatic cancer caused by hepatitis C virus by searching a substance inhibiting the bonding of non-structural protein NS3 of hepatitis C virus to p53 cancer suppressing protein or further searching a substance inhibiting NS3 serine protease activity from the bond inhibiting substances. Highly efficient screening can be carried out in the screening method by paying attention to an amino acid residue important for the bonding of the 106th leucine, etc., to p53 and searching a substance bonding to a region containing the amino acid residue.
