PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging device that does not require any complicated correction processing and does not cause deterioration in characteristics in an output signal line in a monitoring mode. SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging device comprises an image pickup section 1 at which a plurality of pixels are arranged two-dimensionally; a vertical scanning circuit 7 that vertically scans the image pickup section and selects the pixel for outputting a video signal; a horizontal scanning circuit 8 that scans the image pickup section horizontally and selects the pixel for outputting the video signal; first and second horizontal signal lines 4-1, 4-2 that output the video signal regarding the entire pixels of the image pickup section in which groups of pixels to be outputted differ; a horizontal signal line 4-3 for monitoring modes for outputting the video signal regarding only the specific pixel of the image pickup section; and a mode setting control unit 11 for setting a total pixel read mode for selecting the first and second horizontal signal lines, and a monitoring mode for selecting a horizontal signal line for the monitoring mode.
