PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an electric power steering device capable of enhancing the performance by continuing the optimum assist according to the fluctuation in vehicle speed even when a vehicle speed sensor is failed. SOLUTION: In the control device of the electric power steering device to perform the assist control by giving the assist force by a motor to a steering system through the vehicle speed sensing based on the actual vehicle speed signal from a vehicle speed sensor, the estimated vehicle speed is obtained based on the acceleration signal and the time data, a correlation approximation formula is calculated by the estimated vehicle speed and the actual vehicle speed signal, and the present estimated vehicle speed is obtained based on the correlation approximation formula and the estimated vehicle speed.
