PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive member capable of more uniformly charging the surface of a photoreceptor, and also, capable of enhancing the durability by preventing the occurrence of positional deviation and a gap between an electric resistance adjusting layer and a gap holding member, and by maintaining a stable gap between the photoreceptor and the conductive member. SOLUTION: Regarding the conductive member 10 having a conductive supporting body 1, the electric resistance adjusting layer 2 formed on the conductive supporting body 1 and the gap holding member 3 arranged on each end of the electric resistance adjusting layer 2, the conductive member 1 is provided with a continuous or a discontinuous fixed groove 1a formed in the outer surface of the conductive supporting body 1 in the peripheral direction facing the layer 2 and/or the member 3, and a continuous or discontinuous protrusion 2b arranged in the inner surface of the layer 2 and/or the member 3 in the peripheral direction so that the protrusion 2b may be fitted into the fixed groove 1a.
