Arrangement for treatment of exhaust air has a housing holding a gas permeable bed of carrier material (2) innoculated with pollutant degrading bacteria and yeasts, and containing moisture release devices (9) which comprise water holding material (9) e.g. felt, fibrous flock, sponge, granules, or gels in moisture-permeable chambers (14), distributed throughout the bed. The chambers are connected to a supply pipe (8) fed from an external reservoir (6).
