PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens barrel capable of integrally assembling two barrels moving in the optical axis direction, while keeping the interval constant, without treating an arm part and an engagement part as separate components. SOLUTION: The zoom lens barrel is provided with a first barrel which holds one side lens group of two lens groups and provides the arm part with a long groove formed in parallel with the optical axis, having an opening part for opening the long groove and a closure part for closing the same in the direction orthogonal to the optical axis and; a second barrel which holds another side lens group and has the engaging part of being protruded to the direction orthogonal to the optical axis, and thereby, being engaged with the closure part. At varying of power, the zoom lens barrel causes the closure part and the engagement part to engage with each other, by the energizing force of an energizing member and allows the closure part and the engagement part to move in the optical axis direction, while keeping the interval between the first barrel and the second barrel constant. Therein, the arm part is inserted from the lateral side of the engagement part, the opening part is positioned on the inner part than the engagement part; thereafter, at least either side of the first barrel and the second barrel is rotated and; thereby the closure part and the engagement part are made to substantially accord with each other in a direction parallel to the optical axis, and the first barrel and the second barrel are assembled.
