PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method where impurities such as zinc, bismuth, antimony and thallium are efficiently separated from an aqueous solution comprising a cadmium salt, and high purity cadmium is selectively recovered. SOLUTION: In the method for recovering high purity cadmium, crude metal cadmium of≥80 mass% is recovered from a cadmium-containing solution by electrolytic winning using a rotary electrode, further, the same is dissolved into sulfuric acid to remove bismuth, antimony, thallium or the like by a manganese slime process, and subsequently, it is won by an ordinary electrolytic process.
