The swivel element of a tensioning device, especially for endless drive belts, preferably in auxiliary drives of internal combustion engines, has an eccentric bolt (4) passing through the swivel element and supporting the tensioning device. A tensioning roller (20) is rotatably mounted on the eccentric bolt via a working eccentric (14). A supporting torsion spring (10) is provided in the swivel element. The swivel element is constructed in two sections, whereby the working eccentric supports the tensioning roller, and a support sleeve (12) axially connected to and positively locking with the working eccentric supports one end (28) of the torsion spring.
