PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system equipped with a high map-matching accuracy and a learning function for superior inertial navigation system. SOLUTION: The car navigation system 10 comprises a road discrimination means for acquiring road discriminating information B5 whether an off-road state that the car is deviating from a road is not possible from the road information of a map database 16, and a compulsive map-matching measures which compulsively matches the self-car position on the map onto the road and strengthens the learning intensity of inertial navigation system 1, when a satellite-positioning system 2 is continuously in no measurement state for a specific time during map matching to the estimated road, based on the road discrimination information B5, the self-car is decided as moving by the inertial navigation system 1, and that there is an impossible road for off-road state near the self-car position decided, or when the matching factor of the previous own car position is higher than a preset value and that the own car decided to be is located on an impossible road of off-road state on the map database 16.
