PURPOSE:To obtain a superior ultraconductive wire rod by treating an Nb- based alloy material contg. a prescribed ratio of Hf in an Sn-based alloy bath contg. prescribed ratios of Ga, In or Al, Cu or Ag in accordance with prescribed conditions. CONSTITUTION:An Sn-based alloy contg. respectively 0.1-70atom% Ga, In or Al, Cu or Ag and contg. <=70atom% total of the respective elements is heated to melt at 600-1,200 deg.C, whereby an alloy bath is prepd. On the other hand, a wire or tape of an Nb-based alloy contg. 0.1-30atom% Hf is prepd. This wire or tape is immersed in said Sn-based alloy bath, and in succission to this, it is heat-treated at 600-1,200 deg.C. By the above-mentioned method, an Nb3Sn compound layer is formed on the surface of the Nb alloy, and the ultraconductive wire rod is obtained. |
