Disclosed is a hinge device ( 2, 22 ) comprising a lever ( 6 ) that is provided with two top parts ( 4, 5 ). Said two top parts ( 4, 5 ) are used for assembling the lever ( 6 ) and are pivotable about one respective pin located at the ends of the lever ( 6 ). Two traction ropes ( 8, 9 ) are provided which grip the two top parts ( 4, 5 ) at gripping points ( 12, 13, 16, 17 ) located on different sides of a plane that is defined by the two pins.
