The invention provides a process for making a papermaking belt by providing a molding member having a surface comprising molding pockets, depositing a flowable resinous material into the molding pockets, contacting the flowable resinous material with a reinforcing structure and joining thes e together, and solidifying the resinous material, wherein the reinforcing structure and the molding surface continuously travel at a transport velocit y such that the flowable resinous material is transferred from the molding pockets onto the reinforcing structure in a preselected pattern. An apparatus to carry out the process is also provided.
