PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system capable of decreasing a dead band zone causing disabled communication with a base station apparatus so as to permit extension of the service area and to provide a relay station apparatus and the base station apparatus. SOLUTION: The base station (BS) 1 transmits a MAP message including information for informing of information transmission/reception timing and a burst packet to a relay station (RS) 2. The RS 2 receives the MAP message and the burst packet. The RS 2 sets information for informing of transmission timing of a preamble for controlling the reception synchronization by an SS 3c and an SS 3d to Preamble Present bits in the MAP message and transmits the resulting MAP message to the SS 3c and the SS 3d. Further, the RS 2 transmits the burst packet with the preamble attached thereto to the SS 3c and the SS 3d. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
