<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in a conventional technique that productivity is deteriorated with a single-side reading mode and a mysterious error is notified, when an original mixed loading mode is applied to read the image of an original document with a CVT (constant velocity transport) system. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with an original document transfer means for transferring an original document; a reading means for reading the image of the moving original document transferred by the original document transfer means; a second detection sensor 24 for outputting information about the size in a main scanning direction of the original document transferred by the original document transfer means; an extracting unit 26 for extracting candidates of the size of the original document on the basis of the information about the size of the original document in a main scanning direction of the original document, the information to be output from the sensor 24; a size deciding unit 28 for deciding any one of the candidates of the original document size extracted in the extracting unit 26 as a temporary original document size; and an error determining unit 29 for determining whether or not an error occurs when the temporary original document size is applied to execute image processing. In this apparatus, when it is determined that an error occurs in the temporary original document size, the unit 28 changes the temporary original document size among the candidates of the original document size extracted by the extracting unit 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
