PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can surely suppress a temperature rise at both ends in the transverse direction of a heating member and a fixing member even when a plurality of recording media are continuously fixed. SOLUTION: The fixing device 20 which fixes a toner image T to the recording medium P includes a magnetic flux generating means 24 which generates a magnetic flux; heating members 22 and 23 which are inductively heated by the magnetic flux; a magnetic flux adjusting member 29 which lowers the magnetic flux acting on the heating members 22 and 23 with respect to the prescribed adjustment range in the transverse direction; and a varying means which varies the adjustment range where the magnetic flux is lowered by driving the magnetic flux adjusting member 29. The varying means controls the driving of the magnetic flux adjusting member 29 while the plurality of the recording media P are continuously subjected to fixing of the toner image T.
