<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clot retrieval device, taking out clot of blood efficiently time-wise and decreasing the fear that small pieces of blood clot enter the flow of blood. <P>SOLUTION: This clot retrieval device 10 includes a clot retrieval unit 14 having a pusher member 16 and a retrieval basket 22 connected to the distal end of the pusher member. The retrieval basket is transformable between the expansion state and the contraction state. The retrieval basket further includes a closable opening part 28 provided at the distal end thereof to receive the clot in the retrieval basket.
