PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a highly practical cold/heat retaining body highly efficiently manufacturing the highly practical cold/heat retaining body capable of favorably retaining the cold/heat of a drink put in a container such as a PET bottle. SOLUTION: The cold/heat retaining body is constituted of a trunk member 1 formed of a metal inner cylindrical body 1a, a metal outer cylindrical body 1b and a clearance part 6 between the inner cylindrical body 1a and the outer cylindrical body 1b formed of a vacuum heat insulating layer; and a bottom member 2 closing a lower part opening 1d of the trunk member 1. This manufacturing method of the cold/heat retaining body is so formed that the lower part opening 1d of the trunk member 1 is closed by the bottom member 2 in a position near an exhaust hole 12 for evacuation provided in the trunk member 1, a brazing material 11 is disposed in a connecting part between the bottom member 2 and the trunk member 1 or its adjacency, the trunk member 1 is exhausted by vacuum heating via the exhaust hole 12, and the brazing material 11 is melted to join the trunk member 1 with the bottom member 2 and seal the exhaust hole 12.
