<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutaneous cell growth promoting composition promoting turnover of the skin by activating the cell growth in the epidermal tissue, and capable of effectively reducing or suppressing inflammation caused by ultraviolet rays. <P>SOLUTION: The cutaneous cell growth promoting composition contains a cocoa component contained in a cacao mass as an active ingredient. Cocoa and/or the cacao mass is preferably used as the raw material containing the cocoa component. The cutaneous cell growth promoting composition preferably contains ≥1 mass% cacao mass and/or processed product thereof.
